URL shortener for Qatar: short links you can edit, protect and measure

2a.qa turns a long address into a short link like 2a.qa/offer that is easy to type, print and share on WhatsApp, Instagram or a flyer. Every link gets its own QR code and its own statistics, and you can change where it points at any time without reprinting anything.

Short links with a name people remember

A random code works, but a name works better. Choose your own alias — 3 to 32 letters, digits, dashes or underscores — such as 2a.qa/menu or 2a.qa/eid-offer, or let 2a.qa generate a six-character code for you.

Because the short link stays the same while its destination can change, it is safe to print. Update the target after a campaign ends and every printed card, poster and QR code follows the new address straight away: redirects are never cached by browsers.

A QR code for every link

Each short link comes with a QR code you can design: square, rounded or dot modules, three eye styles, your own colours or the brand gradient, and frames such as "Scan me". Download it as a high-resolution PNG or as an SVG for print. Codes use the highest error-correction level, so they still scan on packaging and signage.

Scans of the QR code are counted separately from taps on the link, so you can see how much traffic the printed code brought in.

Control who gets through, and when

  • Password protection — visitors see a password page before the destination. Changing the password signs out everyone who unlocked the old one.
  • Expiry dates and an on/off switch — a link can stop working on a date you choose, or be paused and resumed.
  • Smart routing — send visitors to different pages by country, device, language, time window or referrer, or split traffic between two pages for an A/B test.
  • UTM tags — add source, medium, campaign, term and content at redirect time without changing the link you shared.
  • Safety preview — optionally show a preview page with the destination before visitors continue.

Built for Arabic and for Qatar

The whole product works right-to-left in Arabic as well as in English, and click times are reported in Qatar time. 2a.qa is built and run from Doha; your account comes with a full data export and self-service deletion, in line with Qatar's Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (PDPL).

Developers can create links from code with the 2a.qa REST API and receive a signed webhook on every click; API access is enabled per account.

How to shorten a link

  1. 1Paste the long link into 2a.qa.
  2. 2Choose an alias, or keep the generated code.
  3. 3Optionally add a password, an expiry date or routing rules.
  4. 4Share the short link or download its QR code — then watch the clicks arrive.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 2a.qa URL shortener free?

Yes. Starting is free, and during the launch period every feature is free — there are no paid plans to buy today. The pricing page always shows the current state.

Can I change where a short link goes after I share it?

Yes. Edit the destination in your dashboard and the same short link and QR code open the new address immediately, because redirects are not cached.

Can I choose my own short link name?

Yes. Custom aliases can be 3 to 32 characters long and use letters, digits, dashes and underscores, as long as the name is not already taken or reserved.

Do short links expire?

Only if you want them to. A link works until you set an expiry date or switch it off.

Can I protect a link with a password?

Yes. A protected link shows a password page first; the password is stored hashed and attempts are rate-limited.
