File sharing · up to 5 GB per file
File sharing: send large files with a short, protected link
Email attachments stop at a few megabytes and messaging apps compress your photos and videos. 2a.qa lets you upload a file and share it as a short link — with a password, an expiry date or a download limit if you need one — and the person receiving it does not need an account.

Large files, reliable uploads
Upload files of up to 5 GB each. Uploads are sent in chunks, so a dropped connection resumes instead of starting over. The receiver opens a clean download page with the file's name, size and type — and can preview many files before downloading.
Previews before downloading
Images (including HEIC photos from iPhone), PDF documents, videos, audio, text and code, CSV and JSON files, the contents of ZIP archives and the text of Office documents can be previewed in the browser, so the receiver knows what they are getting.
You decide who downloads, and until when
- Password — only people who know it can download.
- Expiry — choose the date and time after which the link stops working.
- Download limit — the link closes after a set number of downloads.
- Encryption — files can be encrypted on the server at rest, or end-to-end in your browser so that 2a.qa never sees the contents (zero-knowledge).
- Malware scanning — files that are not end-to-end encrypted are scanned for viruses, and infected uploads are refused.
Send several files, or ask for them
A transfer sends a set of files under one link that the receiver can download one by one or as a single ZIP. A file request works the other way round: share a link, and clients or colleagues upload files to you before a deadline you set — useful for documents, designs and photos.
How to send a large file
- 1Upload the file from your 2a.qa account.
- 2Add a password, an expiry date or a download limit if you want one.
- 3Copy the short link or its QR code and send it.
- 4See how many times it has been downloaded.
Frequently asked questions
What is the largest file I can send?
Up to 5 GB per file.
Does the receiver need an account?
No. They open the link, see the file details and preview, and download it.
Can 2a.qa read my files?
Not if you choose end-to-end encryption: the file is encrypted in your browser and only people with the link's key can decrypt it. Those files cannot be virus-scanned, because 2a.qa cannot see them.
Is file sharing available on every account?
During the launch period, file sharing is enabled account by account. Once it is on for your account, all the options on this page are available.
Is file sharing free?
Yes. Starting is free, and during the launch period every feature is free — there are no paid plans to buy today.
